Hi Friends! This weekend was bittersweet. I moved out of my condo and back in with my parents. It all happened so fast and I can't imagine how I managed to have an entire home's worth of junk all cleared to an empty space.
I reflected a lot of Friday evening as it was my last night sleeping there. This was my home for seven years. There have been so many memories made in this home: parties with friends, new traditions, breakups, the birth of Hey Love Designs, the first home Nico and I shared together, a hot pink bathroom, but now I'm getting ready for my next adventure: San Diego.
I've hinted at it a few times, but I'm going on a west coast adventure. I've never lived anywhere else and decided to try my hand and living on the best coast while life gives me the opportunity to do so. I'll be gone for three months with the hopes of making it longer term. Think of it as a trial move and the side perk is I get to be near warmer temperatures (even if it will be like Virginia's fall temperatures but no frigid winter or snow!) and close to the beach.
But for the next month, I'll be living with my parents while I rent my condo. It's not too terrible. A long time ago I learned it's okay to live at home as long as it's not permanent and you're doing something with yourself. Getting to live with your parents is not a privilege that everyone gets, so it's certainly a benefit that is not to be abused. I'm glad that I have a place to come home to, even if it feels like the tiniest room in the world. I'm also stoked for all the homecooked meals I'll get and the opportunity to spend a lot of time with family before I leave. The goal is to make them so sick of me that they're practically begging me to leave! I'm only half kidding. :)
In the meantime, Hey Love Designs will keep chugging along. The blog will definitely still be here but the shop will have limited items available for sale, since I can't bring all my goodies with me. Trust me, I tried to condense as much as possible!
I'm really excited! Any of my blog friends live in or near San Diego? I'm trying to find the craft and DIY community there.
And because you always need a soundtrack to your life:
