Featured Product: Updated DC Skyline Wedding Invitations
Hi, Friends! Big news! One of my very first designs ever was a DC skyline save the date card. Since then it has spawned into wedding invitations, moving announcements, bridal shower invitations, and graduation announcements. I can't believe that a concept that my client and Twitter pal, Ashley, gave me, has taken off. I think the thing people love about it is that it is so completely customizable. I've gotten all kinds of requests to change color, fonts, layout, and context. People love these cards!
But as exciting as that has all been, I thought it was time to change it up and make it look a little more "Hey Love Designs." For awhile I've wanted to add twinkling stars or a moon and change the layout slightly. I also wanted to be able to make it an entire wedding invitation suite because I had received several requests.
I absolutely love how well these turned out. Do you ever have a vision and when you make it, it turns out a disaster? Not this time! I am not one to toot my own horn, but f*ck it. Toot toot!
The wedding invitations are a new aspect. I've done custom orders before but I never listed an actual invitation option. I loved the idea of moving the skyline up the page and having the text below it.
The addition of the twinkly stars makes the space on the right look less empty than before.
I even love the idea of inverting the colors so that the RSVP text can be read and written on by guests.
There is also room for clients to modify the text. I left it basic and just name and attendance, but you could also add in dinner options and maybe a place to add a song request.
The glyphs (swoopy text) are what I really love about the font I chose for this set, but the font may be customized as well for a slight fee.
Okay, I'll stop talking about these now. Except one more thing: I'm considering expanding the line to other major city skylines like NYC, Seattle, and anything else with a very prominent and recognizable skyline.
