You Can Do It, Put Your Back Into it (or: New Head Shots!)
I have this funny habit where I get this idea in my head and I need to drop everything to do it. Kind of like this new chapter in my life where I'm really pushing to work in a more creative field, boosting up Hey Love Designs like crazy, and doing everything in my power to make it happen.
I also have a crazy habit of telling people, "You can do it, put your back into it!" when trying to be inspirational. And a little bit ghetto. I mean, who else can take an Ice Cube song and turn it into words of wisdom? It's got a catchy tune.
So yesterday I was thinking about how I needed new head shots, as it had been a few years since I had any professionally done. I thought about what would best describe my personality and I figured it out:
In my mind, my perfect headshot would be me holding a laptop and my dog on a leash, in a cute dress and one foot kicked behind me.

So after giving myself the Ice Cube Pep Talk, I decided to make it happen. This morning, I curled my hair, made up my face, and put on my most favorite dresses. Thank goodness for my tripod and camera remote. It made the process really simple in the privacy of my own home.
Clearly the "hold Nico's leash" and "kick my foot up" photos didn't make the cut. Nico kept facing his bum to the camera despite numerous attempts to reposition him. Then I couldn't quite balance well on one heel... But I think these still turned out great and I think they still capture my personality. I'm on my computer a lot, I love my dog to pieces, and I could live in dresses.

Have you ever taken head shots before? What would you include to really show off your personality?
