On Achieving Your Dreams
You may have noticed lately that I've really hit the ground running with getting Hey Love Designs back on track. I'm blogging regularly again, I've updated my shop, I finally started offering calligraphy services, and that's just the tip of the iceberg.
I recently made a life change that involves being at home more and focusing on my creative career path. It's easy to want to just spend forever on the couch and take multiple naps a day, but I remain focused and driven. Okay, I schedule in naps!
So, how do I keep my eyes on the prize?
I went to my local library and checked out Blog, Inc. I've always admired the Oh Joy! blog and what Joy Cho has done to get where she is today. I know that I want Hey Love Designs to grow as a blog and as an online shop, so I'm constantly looking for inspiration. I have to admit, I am not the best at staying tuned into books, but this one already has be hooked!
I'm already a big proponent of creating a community and making blog friends - let's face it, we wouldn't get anywhere if it weren't for the support of our friends - real life or virtual. The blogging community is so supportive once you've found your niche and blog from the heart. If you show how passionate you are, others will see that and admire it. People return to your blog because they like what you have to say and you're not just doing it to keep up appearances.
I'm finally ready to start monetizing my blog. Here's something not many people know: I actually haven't made much money from my blog and online shop. Up until this point it was purely just for the love of it, but now I'm ready to make this my life.
