Photo Walk: Old Town Alexandria
This past Saturday, a few of us photography enthusiasts roamed the streets of Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. The weather was sunny, 85 degrees, and didn't feel humid. I couldn't have asked for more perfect weather. Okay, maybe some clouds and a little more wind, but overall it was nice to not have a sticky hot day in this swampy area.
After a little meet and greet and much needed fuel at Starbucks, we embarked on our walk. No plan. Just walk to what looks interesting. We may or may not have started our adventure after spotting a Captain Jack Sparrow look-a-like at Starbucks. We knew he would be boarding a nearby ship so we started along the waterfront.
We walked around the city for about 2 hours and chatted a lot about photography and life. The photo walk ended up exactly what I wanted it to be - fun to hang out, share tips, and get to know new people.
Here are a few of my favorite photos.
I forgot to get a group photo, so this will have to do.
This mail drop craves snail mail!
I love the nautical themes found throughout Old Town.
I'm pretty sure this sign was made for my dog. He likes to climb into bushes to take care of business.
Maybe this is where we should have ended up after the photo walk to chat!
Thank you to everyone who came out to the photo walk and for helping me brainstorm the next one. I plan to hold this again in the fall when it's cooler. Have a suggestion? Post it in the comments below.
