Hey Love Designs Turns 3! (Plus a Giveaway!)
* * * Update: Congratulations Kathy D on winning the $20 gift certificate to Hey Love Designs' Etsy shop!! * * *
This day always seems to creep up on me because I get so caught up in orders. Hey Love Designs turns 3 today!! Three years ago my best friends and family members convinced me to take my love of parties and sweets and turn it into a business.
Remember when I first started off designing and baking? I was convinced I was going to take over the world by making mini cupcakes and doughnuts (totally called the doughnut trend) and the accompanying paper goods. The sweets aspect of the business has dropped off but the designing is still going strong! I think subconsciously I knew that designing was my real passion. It's what I put in my domain name!
So where has this journey taken me this past year? The biggest deal was I accomplished my goal of opening an online shop. I tried it out on both on Etsy and Storenvy and Etsy was the clear winner. I started hosting craft ups to bring DIY out to the community and to bond fellow crafty minds.
What's to come in Hey Love Designs' fourth year? I hope to make the craft events even bigger. I want to host big community events where we can teach each other a new project and eventually make it an all day (or weekend?) workshop. I want to post more invitation suites on Etsy so brides have more options and can rest at ease knowing they can get all their paper needs in one place. I want to take this blog to new lengths - with more daily postings, creating an online community, and maybe one day, an online magazine.
I want to thank everyone who has been so supportive of this passion of mine. To my parents who bought me my first KitchenAid stand mixer because they were so proud of my accomplishments (even though I don't bake as a service I still give Sir Mix-A-Lot a lot of love!). My friends, who believe in me so much and stand by the value of my work that they are repeatedly ordering design goods from me or simply just helping promote my business. To my awesome clients who saw something they liked to make an order through me, especially those who constantly come back. You all help me believe that I'm good at this and motivate me to continue making big strides. You all are what help me keep at this and look forward to designing. Some days it's hard work and I may complain about lack of sleep, but when you're doing what you love, it's all worth it.
Thank you all. From the bottom of my heart.
