A Growing Baby Shower
When Lisa put out a call on Twitter in November looking for local DC designers for a baby shower, I answered. She was hosting her sister's baby shower in January and needed to have invitations and advice cards designed. Since the baby is due in the spring, she thought it would be great to have a theme that focused around "growing" and trees. Once I found a great stock image of a tree, I centered the design around that and came up with an idea that Lisa absolutely loved. I also printed coordinating envelopes with her return address and the tree.

Along with the shower, Lisa wanted the shower guests to be able to write advice for the mom to be. Keeping with the theme we decided on leaf shape cards with lines for the guests to share parenting advice.
Here's how they looked once they were cut out. (Sorry for the grainy photo, mobile pic).
The shower has now passed and Lisa tells me that it went amazing and that people are still talking about how cute the invitations are (that makes me so happy!). I've been lucky to welcome four new babies in 2010 so I have a very soft spot for baby showers. There is so much love at these types of parties and it's amazing how much support you get from friends, family, and even people you'd least suspect. Everyone is always happy to help a new parent.
